Finished Size: 34¼ (40½, 46½)" bust circumference
If you’ve learned the mechanics of stranded color work, then this sweater makes a great first Fair Isle project. In a worsted-weight yarn, it works up much quicker than a traditional Fair Isle sweater; there are no color runs more than five stitches long; and no steeks are required!
Yarn: Halcyon Yarns Botanica (100% wool; 160 yd [146 m]/114 g): #49 beige (MC), 4 (5, 6) skeins; #43 gold, 1 (1, 2) skein(s); #47 olive, 1 skein; #35 bright green, 1 skein; #17 purple, 1 skein; #10 red, 1 skein
Yarn Weight:
Gauge: 21 sts and 24 rnds = 4" in Fair Isle patt on larger needle; 19 sts and 28 rnds = 4" in St st with MC on larger needle; 20 sts and 30 rnds = 4" in St st with MC on smaller needles (worked on sleeves)
WPI (Wraps per inch):
Needles: Size 7 (4.5 mm): 24" and 16" circular needles; Size 6 (4 mm): straight and double-pointed needles (dpn)
